Introduction

“To be spiritually minded is life and peace.”* (Romans 8:6)

When God finds us He finds us “earthly, sensual, [and] devilish.”* (James 3:15) His ultimate aim is to make us like unto Himself (2 Corinthians 3:18). The transformation is a tremendous undertaking, but our God is abundantly able if we will but submit to His process. Christ will never be satisfied with us and we ought never to be satisfied with ourselves until He can present us unto the Father in as good condition morally as that in which we originally came from His loving hand. Were it to be less than this, the Atonement (at-one-ment) would be a failure. “As we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.”* (1 Corinthians 15:49) When? When we get to heaven? Yes, but also in this life, for we are told, “As He is so, are we in this world.”* (1 John 4:17)
