Dear Reader

We are thankful for the opportunity to present another volume of songs and stories. We thank the Lord for the help He has given to make this effort possible, for the encouragement and support of family and friends, and the patience of those who have been waiting on us. To God be all the glory.

As in our first volume, the twelve stories included here have been selected to match the themes in each of the songs. The children’s songs are reprints from “Sing unto the Lord,” published in Treasures of the Kingdom, issues 13-24. Topics such as carefulness, obedience, and diligence are covered, along with experiences in faith and finding the way to God. Some of these are true stories. All of them contain truth that speaks to real needs in our lives, whether we be young or old.

Please don’t let this little volume sit on the shelf unread. The decades have not lessened the need of good literature, but the best book is useless until it is opened up and “brought to life.” Our hearts are burdened with the lack of carefulness and purity in what children are allowed to fill their minds with today. How few recognize that attitudes and thoughts are cultivated just as truly as gardens, and that the proverb still reads, “Be not deceived, God is not mocked, for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.”* (Galatians 6:7) Oh, please consider the young lives in your care! The good seed is rare and hard to find, but the abundant reaping that comes from the cheap and easy way is truly pain and woe.

Will you share the good seed and cultivate heaven’s flowers? We pray that this little volume with fulfill the purpose for which it is sent. May the stories and songs filled with timeless truths once again ring out their messages in our homes.
