Though Rosie tried to enjoy playing with her little brother and sister, she could not. Every little bang or call made her jump and sent her heart into a flutter. What if someone had seen her when she had stepped on the dresser this morning and knocked the pitcher off?

No one looked like the miracle-worker of Joseph's dreams. A man sitting on a table was doing most of the talking. All about trees having fruit and good words coming from a good heart and stuff like that. Joseph was getting restless. Where was Jesus?

"What are you going to cut?" Mikal wanted to know. "A new home for our little trees," said Uncle Gene. "You see, grafting is like adoption. These little sticks are like children that are going to be adopted. We are going to choose a good home for them on this tree...."

"Chase is a wild and selfish kitten right now," Mom replied. "But if you get mad when she is naughty, she will be frightened of you. You must work to win her trust." Mom smiled. "If you take time to love her, she will learn to love you."

As the spirit of gloom filled the room, John took out his sword.... It was time to fight! "Don't be worried, Mother," he said quickly. "We prayed for you and I know God heard us. Remember that Jesus said, 'Believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.' "

Imagine a small child falling into a pit and calling for help. Wouldn't his father hurry to get him out? If the pit was very deep, the child would seem very far away, but wouldn't the father be even more eager to rescue him? That is how God looks at sin and forgiveness.

A little climbing rose had opened it's first bloom by the front door. "Grandma gave me that," Becky said with a bright smile.... "But where did you get this?" Mrs. Wise asked, pointing to the bramble bush. Becky thought a moment. "...I guess I've had it since I was born!"
