I Obeyed

One day I was taking a walk with my Daddy, Momma, and my two brothers. I was having so much fun that I forgot to stay close to my Dad and Mom, and ran far ahead. All of a sudden a car turned down the road I was running on, and came driving towards me very, very fast. Daddy yelled, “Get off the road Jo!!!” I obeyed, and ran off the road as fast as I could! Daddy ran to me and picked me up. He said: “Good job for obeying right away. That car could have hit you if you didn’t obey. From now on when we take a walk on the road, I want you to always hold my or Mama’s hand.” I am happy I obeyed.
