I Want That Kind of Blessing

Elijah on Mount Carmel prevailed with God in prayer:
God closed the doors of heaven and drought was everywhere,
He prayed again in earnest, and rain came pouring down—
He had that kind of blessing.

I Would Not Be Denied

Old Satan said my Lord was gone
And would not hear my prayer;
But praise the Lord, the work is done,
And Christ the Lord is here.

I’ll Not Forget to Pray

I thank Him for His loving care,
That angels near me stay;
At evening shall ascend my prayer
I’ll not forget to pray.

In Thy Holy Place

In Thy holy place we bow,
Perfumes sweet to heaven rise,
While our golden censers glow
With the fire of sacrifice.
Saints low bending, prayers ascending,
Holy lips and hands implore;
Faith believing and receiving
Grace from Him whom we adore.

Jesus Came, the Heavens Adoring

Jesus comes to us in mercy
When our hearts are bowed with care;
Jesus comes in pow’r to answer
Every earnest, heartfelt prayer,
Alleluia! Alleluia!
Comes to save us from despair.

Jesus, I My Cross Have Taken

Haste then on from grace to glory, armed by faith, and winged by prayer,
Heav’n’s eternal day’s before thee, God’s own hand shall guide thee there.
Soon shall close thy earthly mission, swift shall pass thy pilgrim days;
Hope soon change to glad fruition, faith to sight, and prayer to praise.

Jesus, Lover of My Soul

Wilt Thou not regard my call?
Wilt Thou not accept my prayer?
Lo! I sink, I faint, I fall—
Lo! on Thee I cast my care.
Reach me out Thy gracious hand!
While I of Thy strength receive,
Hoping against hope I stand,
Dying, and behold, I live.

Jesus of Nazareth Passeth By

But if you still this call refuse,
And all His wondrous love abuse,
Soon will He sadly from you turn,
Your bitter prayer for pardon spurn.
“Too late! too late!” will be the cry:
“Jesus of Nazareth has passed by.”
“Too late! too late!” will be the cry:
“Jesus of Nazareth has passed by.”

Jesus Shall Reign

To Him shall endless prayer be made,
And praises throng to crown His head;
His name like sweet perfume shall rise
With every morning sacrifice.

Lean on His Arms

Just lean upon the arms of Jesus,
Oh, bring every care, bring every care!
The burden that has seemed so heavy,
Take to the Lord in prayer.
