Something You Can Do

Like Rosie is learning, “freely you have received, freely give.” God has given us what we have to share with others. What can you do to bless others on a cold winter afternoon? Warm your home (or cheer an elderly neighbor) with

Russian Tea

Make sure you have:

  • 1 lemon
  • 1 orange
  • 3/4 c. pineapple juice (drain it from canned pineapple)
  • 1 tea bag
  • 2 t. whole cloves
  • 3/4 c. sugar

Now follow these directions carefully, cleaning up as you go!

  1. Make weak tea (boil 2 cups water and add 1 tea bag). Boil 1/2 cup water extra.
  2. Cut the lemon and orange in half. Squeeze out the juice.
  3. Measure the cloves into a bowl. Cover with the 1/2 cup boiling water. Let stand for 10 minutes.
  4. Put the lemon and orange juices, and the clove water through a strainer into a pot.
  5. Add sugar and mix well.
  6. Add the tea and heat until almost boiling.

Serve into 6 tea cups or mugs with a smile! (Remember to wait a while for the tea to cool off a bit or you might burn your tongue!)
