Strait and narrow is the gateway, Strive to enter thereinto. Leave your flesh upon the gateposts As you press with violence through. Press on toward the prize and calling; Things forget which are behind; Pearls of greatest price are promised; Jesus says, “Seek and you’ll find.”
Lay aside each weight that hinders; Arm yourselves both night and day; Strive with fervent prayer and crying; Don’t be fearful or afraid. Be ye strong and strive with courage— Though the devil and his host Seem so many, yet remember, They with us are still the most.
Be ye zealous, O dear brothers, Keep your first love kindled bright; Let your single eye look right on; Let it not turn left or right. Be ye zealous, O dear sisters, Though the world despises you; We, by meek and modest conduct, See God’s beauty shining through.
When you’re weary, keep pursuing; Mighty men of valor be. See the promise set before him Who would battle faithfully: Life eternal in God’s presence, Joy we here can’t comprehend, For each faithful, striving soldier That endures unto the end.
