A Prayer Request and Other News
Dear Readers,
When we began this publication, we intended to put it out quarterly. It has not worked out that way, and that has often caused some question on readers’ parts as to whether their subscription had expired, or if we were still publishing.
We do continue to have burdens laid on our hearts to write and send out this publication, but find ourselves faced with strong opposition from the enemy of our souls in many ways. Sometimes it is by distraction; sometimes we fight a lethargy, or lack of inspiration; sometimes technical problems. The list goes on, and we are not saying any of this to testify on behalf of the devil. The Lord has surely helped us, and we want to be about His business, but this is a work that faces spiritual opposition. We earnestly desire the prayers of God’s children to prosper the work in His hands.
On our part, we will contine to purpose to send out issues as often as the Lord inspires and enables us to produce them, but feel that we should give notice not to be alarmed at the irregularity, but rather pray for us.
We will start numbering the issues to make it simpler for you to tell whether you have missed one or not. This is issue Number 6. The first five issues were not numbered, but were Winter 2000, Spring-Summer 2000, Autumn 2000, Winter 2001, and Spring-Summer 2001.
Another change we are making is in the subscription process. We had intended it as a means of insuring that only those who were interested in receiving the magazine continued to receive it. We recently did some follow-up calling on non-renewers and found many still wanted to receive it. Some felt an obligation to not renew if they couldn’t send a donation, others simply lost the return card, etc., etc.
We have decided (except in the case of sample copies) to continue to send Foundation Truth indefinitely unless you specify otherwise, and we are going back to some earlier records and putting a number of people back on the list. We will attempt to keep off the list those who specifically requested beaing taken off, but if we make an error, please bear with us, and just notify us one more time if you wish to be taken off.
“Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.” (2 Peter 3:13-14)
We desire to do you good. We are only earthen vessels, and any good that you do receive came from the Lord. Our heart echoes with the same spirit that inspired Mary to say, “his mercy is on them that fear him from generation to generation,” (Luke 1:50) and Paul to say, “Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.” (2 Corinthians 1:4)
Our hearts are full. Our prayer goes out with this issue, that you might receive the help that comes from God. The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
