In this story, one of Mrs. Walton’s first books, we are given “a peep behind the scenes” at the life of a young actress. Though written over a century ago, it is still just as relevant for our time and the entertainment culture we live in. There is not a clear standard of holy living portrayed, but we appreciate the narration of the loving Shepherd patiently and tenderly calling the lost lambs, and gathering them into the fold.
