Men have their policies; they learn and adjust. God does not learn; He knows. Men compel obedience for the greater good. God reveals enough truth to those who have ears to hear that a man can work when the Father works.

That is the way to look at the Scriptures and understand the thoughts of God—to see in them the face of Love, shining through and through. Not ideas, nor doctrines, but Jesus Himself as the Life and Source and sustaining Presence of all our life.

Perhaps there are some who... are not yet truly satisfied with what they have. If you throw open your heart and give up everything but just believing and allowing Him to do what He wants.... Jesus will reveal Himself.

The abiding soul is a praying soul. In all abiding in Jesus there is a constant action of the soul, and this action is prayer.... The soul that prays, really prays, abides in a state of quietness, reposing on the bosom of God, and knows no fear, save the fear of God.

When my agony of soul was at its height, a sentence in a letter from dear McCarthy was used to remove the scales from my eyes, and the Spirit of God revealed the truth of our oneness with Jesus as I had never known it before.

A walk with God is a satisfactory walk. He who walks with God is delighted all the way.... In God's ways there are no disappointments. When our wills are submitted to Him and we humbly and submissively walk where He leads us, we meet with no disappointments.

We can only have spiritual life if Jesus is flowing through us. You see, being a Christian is not following a bunch of rules or trying to be good all the time. We are just branches. We must stay connected to Jesus. That's what "abide" means.

"I, the Vine, have taken you to be My branches.... I have surrendered Myself as God absolutely to you; I became Man and died for you that I might be entirely yours. Come and surrender yourselves entirely to be Mine."
