Because faith is essential to the spiritual life—both to entering that life, and for any steps of progress in that life—it behooves us to give it all the nourishment possible. Faith can be fed and strengthened, and thus will grow.

Bro. F.—Well... I should like to have a talk with you. They tell me that you sanctified folks claim to be free from sin, and I can't believe that, for the apostle Paul confessed that he had sin dwelling in him, and I don't think we can get better than he was.

Brothers and sisters in Christ, let us keep in our hearts a love for the truth and the crucified way, lest we be led astray by any of the deceivers around us.... Those who get grounded and settled in the truth will not be blown about by different winds of doctrine.

But now these very same writers and preachers... have repudiated their own teaching and are wearing many of the things they formerly taught against. So, according to their own statements... "The devil has seduced them."
