Jesus lived with a life focused on one thing. What was that? Loving God, His Father.... There were plenty of other things Jesus could have thought about.... But Jesus didn't look at those things. His mind was set—focused—on something more wonderful.

Jesus requires the undivided heart and every affection. You cannot refuse him. He has done too much for you. He suffered without the gate that He might sanctify you with His own blood. He gave Himself... and now how can you withhold anything from Him?

Jesus' riches made him happy. He didn't worry that they would be used up or stolen. Not at all! He came to share his treasure with us. When people asked for things, he was glad to give them what they really needed.

Jesus taught His disciples to say when praying, "Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven." Now, if angels in heaven sinned, then God's will was not done in heaven.

Jesus, the true shepherd, came seeking for you, and now that you have given yourself to His loving care, always confide in Him and yield to His guidance. Ever keep your hand in His and follow where He leads, and your life will be full of joy.

Jesus was quick to give the credit to God. Although He was God Himself... He quickly and reflexively gave the credit for virtue to His heavenly Father. It is this set of heart and mind that avoids the pride of life and lives in humble reliance upon God.
